Conventional microscope systems have to move Z-axis to examine objects with height difference. This process is typically very time consuming. With SD Optics’ MALS ™, Zeiss ‘Visioner 1’ provides real-time Extended Depth of Field(EDoF). EDoF generates all-in focused images without re-focusing by Z-axis moving and delivers real-time 3D vision inspection results.

MALS™ is a virtual lens with a consistent array of micro-mirror.Each micro-mirror rotates to form curvature and optical representation. As each individual micro-mirror changes its orientation to create a lens curvature that fits the focus, it is possible to produce an all-in-focus images without Z-stacking or re-focusing.
